- Special Carolina Region Event
On Saturday, March 27 the Hornets Nest Region, AACA will visit two outstanding
vehicle collections in the Hickory area. The group will first stop at Killian’s
Hardware where a variety of industrial and farm equipment is displayed along
with a number of antique cars and trucks. After lunch, all will proceed to Lee
Huffman’s extensive car and fire truck collection in nearby Granite Falls. The
Huffman facility houses about one hundred vintage vehicles and includes what is
probably the old car hobby’s largest assemblage of Lincoln Zephyrs. Carolina
Region CLC members may participate in the outing as guests of HNR members
Lowell Carlson and Bill Edmunds. As space is limited, pre-registration by March
13 is required. The cost (including a group lunch) to non-HNR members is $10
per person. Time, directions and additional information will be forwarded to
participants by email a week before the outing. Don’t miss this opportunity to
visit these two unique private collections.
